Covid vaccination update – 17/02/2021
So far nearly 30,000 people have received a covid vaccination in the Bognor Regis region. We are in the process of inviting in patients in both the 65-69 year age group and the 16-64 year age group (those with underlying health conditions). A lot of the 65-69 group have already booked in with mass vaccination centres, so we’re able to concentrate on those with underlying health conditions.
We are only able to put on vaccination sessions on two days next week as we’re currently not expecting any more vaccines next week. There are many thousands of patients with underlying health conditions, so we won’t have got through everyone with the current supplies we have. We’re doing our best with the supplies we’re being given, so please bear with us while we wait for more to come in.
We are receiving questions regarding key workers. The NHS cohort guidance only includes those working in health and social care, so we are unable to vaccinate those working in fields like teaching, supermarkets, etc unless the national guidance changes (unless you are eligible under the current patient criteria, i.e. over 50 years old or with underlying health conditions).
