Who is eligible for a free flu vaccine?

Criteria for who will be eligible for a free flu jab this year:

• Pregnant women
• People with certain health conditions, including kidney disease, asthma (using a Steroid inhaler) and heart disease
• Carers and those in care homes
• Children over six months with a long-term health condition
• Children aged two and three
• Children in primary school 
• Children aged 11 by the end of August this year

GP surgeries will focus on high-risk groups / NHS shielded patients before giving the vaccine to those aged over 50 in the fit and healthy range.
